Research Interest

I am interested in how organisms overcome challenges to survive and reproduce, especially when there are potentially multiple solutions to a given problem or when selective pressures may oppose each other. I’m particularly interested in the evolution of animal behavior and animal communication. I’ve recently completed my PhD in Phil Taylor’s lab at Macquarie University, where I studied assessment and decision-making in contests of the jumping spider Servaea incana (Araenae: Salticidae). I am now investigating sexual selection and communication in wolf spiders (Araneae: Lycosidae) as a post-doc in the Hebets lab.
